Longtime Hellraiser make-up artist Gary J. Tunnicliffe has stepped into the director’s chair for Hellraiser: Judgement, the tenth instalment of the long-running horror franchise, and with the film currently in post-production he’s shared a couple of images, giving us a look at two of the new Cenobites – The Butcher and The Surgeon; check them out here…
“I promise you a horror film that will have moments unlike any other you have ever seen,” writes Tunnicliffe on his site. “Dimension films have been incredibly generous and shown an enormous amount of faith in letting me write and direct Hellraiser: Judgment, a film that is not just the simple recycling of the Hellraiser formula; a film that will boast some of the strangest, most bizarre, horrific and thought provoking sequences ever seen in the horror genre. I know you’ve been let down, trust me I have too, but give me a chance. I know we can never make a film as great as the first two Hellraisers [and] I wouldn’t even try to, but I think we have a fun little script here, an amazing cast and crew and an opportunity to give you all something a little different – a little terrifying and something that will be a worthy part of the Hellraiser canon.”
“Detectives Sean and David Carter are on the case to find a gruesome serial killer terrorizing the city. Joining forces with Detective Christine Egerton, they dig deeper into a spiraling maze of horror that may not be of this world. Could the Judgment awaiting the killer’s victims also be waiting for Sean?”
Hellraiser: Judgment is set for release in 2017, and features features A Nightmare on Elm Street star Heather Langenkamp among its cast.
