For those of us ZX Spectrum fans that are keen to get our hands on the ZX Vega + news appeared online today from Cornerstone Media which has made us wonder about the future state of this upcoming handheld retro console that recently raised over £400K on indiegogo.
You can read the statement below, which is currently posted on MarquisdeGeek Twitter page, as the original Cornerstone Media Facebook article has been taken down – though it is still linked on their Twitter page.
Flickering Myth reached out to Suzanne Martin at http://retrocomputerslimited.com/ for further information. She informed us that there would be more news coming in relation to the ZX Vega+ soon and also provided us with the following statement which has now been released.
“Following advice from our legal and financial advisors Retro Computers Limited terminated it’s contract with Cornerstone Media International Limited more than two months ago. We would not normally comment on such matters but following the factually inaccurate statement that appears to have been released today by Cornerstone International Limited and it’s principle Mr Nick Cooper we seek to clarify the misinformation. We cannot comment further on the factual inaccuracies as Retro Computers Limited are currently taking legal action against Cornerstone Media International Limited and this matter has been in the hands of our solicitors for sometime.
Retro Computers Limited 13th July, 2016”
What do you think of the recent news from both Cornerstone Media and Retro Computers Limited? Has this made you wary of any future Kickstarter/Indiegogo campaigns or do you see this just as a bump that occurs in everyday industry?
