Green Man Gaming and Small Impact Games are excited to announce the launch of more features in the latest update for their unique medieval survival game, The Black Death, which is currently in Steam Early Access.
The Black Death is a huge multiplayer open world game where players try to survive in a plague ravaged world -a world where 60% of Europe’s population has been wiped out and survivors struggle against sickness, scarce availability of resources and other survivors. Those who enter this world will be able to choose a realistic profession suitable to the time period with each having their own unique way for survival.
This latest update of The Black Death will include the introduction of a new profession for players to try out – the Beggar. These players will have an improved resistance to the plague due to living in squalor and will have the ability to craft poor quality items and beg for gold from other players. Players will also get to try their hand at playing the role of Outlaw or Vigilante thanks to the introduction of the new bounty system which means the more crimes you commit the bigger the bounty for your head gets. The choice is yours as to whether you become an outlaw or vigilante.
The update will also bring a revamped tundra area containing a new fort with purchasable houses in the snowy northern crags and a new community tavern opened in Freeman’s Port called The Scummy Sturgeon where players can relax.
As well as bringing all the above to expand this authentic world, the update will also include new weather effects such as snow and rain, improve combat by the introduction of parry and weapon hit reactions, and an enhanced user interface to help make things easier to use.
This new update to The Black Death will be unlocked immediately for those who have already purchased the game and also for those who purchase it up until the 17th July.
