In all the build-up to Zack Snyder’s Justice League in the last several weeks, very little has been said about Superman. Aside from the big cast photo shown off at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, there’s been almost no other word regarding Superman. Now the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill, showed fans a tease of the new suit on his Instagram account, one which appears to be grey/black.
In the comic storyline ‘Reign of the Supermen’ that depicted the return of Superman after his death, Superman briefly wore a black suit to help him regenerate his powers. With Superman’s demise at the hands of Doomsday in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as the brief tease of his return at the very end of the film, fans have wondered whether or not the black suit would appear in Justice League. While Cavill’s post doesn’t confirm this, it’s now very likely Superman will appear in this suit in the film.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on November 17th 2017.
