Studio Wildcard has released the Scorched Earth expansion for their hit survival game, Ark: Survival Evolved on both PC and Xbox One. Xbox One players also get Update V739 and features new Dinosaurs, the ‘Primitive +’ Mod and HD resolution upgrade to 720p and gameplay with 1080p UIs.
The Scorched Earth expansion places gamers in a new desert themed world where water is not as common as it is on the island and so players must relearn and adjust their survival techniques to ensure they have a plentiful supply. This new desert world is filled with new desert like biomes; dunes, high desert, mountains, canyons, badlands, oasis and the dragon trench each of which have their own appearance, resources and creatures including dragons/wyverns, the camel like Morellatops and Death Worms. Many of these new creatures can be tamed and used like the dinosaurs in the base game.
In Scorched Earth, players must prepare themselves not only for surviving the arid world but also for surviving dangerous electrical storms, blinding sand storms and heat stroke. Those who survive this new world can take characters, favorite creatures and items back to the Island.
