Update 3.1 for World of Tanks Blitz has been released today and Wargaming.net has been working hard to introduce some very welcome additions. In this latest update players will get access to new Soviet Light Tanks, register for clan tournaments and fight over a brand new map.
Players will be given the opportunity to create teams and register them for participation in tournaments. There is no limit on the amount of teams each clan can have, however, players will only be able to join their own clans teams and only by invite from the team’s captain. Participation in all tournaments as a clan team is free with the only restriction being that players must use the specified vehicle tier.
Update 3.1 also sees the addition of a new map called Yamato Harbour. This map is centered around a port where the Japanese warship Yamato is docked. Around the ship is the industrialised area which will be suitable for Heavy Tanks whilst to the east, amongst the hilly terrain, Medium tanks and Tank Destroyers will find some advantage. There has also been improvements made to the following maps Himmelsdorf, Mirage, Vineyards, Canal, Port, Desert Sands, Falls Creek, Rockfield and Lost Temple. Finally for map changes, the map ‘Mines’ has been added to the training rooms allowing you to test out your vehicles.
Three new Soviet Light Tanks are introduced in this latest update, these are the MT25, LTTB and the T-54 Lightweight. Like many light tanks, these are quick and agile but weak armoured. Once players have gained these tanks they could then choose to camouflage them in the two new patterns called Inferno and Shattered Ice, these are now available to purchase with Gold.
In Update 3.0 a new game mode titled Supremacy was introduced where teams had to either destroy all opponents or reach 1000 points. In 3.1 there has been a further 22 missions added to this game mode where players will be able to earn extra XP or credits.
Finally, there has been some rebalancing carried out on certain tanks. Profitability has been increased on some whilst others have had their repair cost lowered. For full details on the changes to the tanks watch the update 3.1 trailer below or visit Wargaming.net here.
