Hit real time strategy Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II and its standalone expansions Chaos Rising and Retribution have been available on Windows PC for some time but now Feral Interactive have announced that this classic real-time strategy game and its expansions will be released for Mac and Linux on 29th September.
Dawn of War II takes place in the 41st millennium on the edge of the Milky Way in the Aurelia sector where an uprising of alien enemies are bent on the destruction of the Imperium of Man. Players will take control of the Blood Ravens Space Marine Chapter and use technologically advanced weapons and vehicles and genetically engineered warriors to beat the Orks, Tyranids and Eldar.
The Chaos Rising expansion takes place one year after the events of Dawn of War II sees players command the Blood Ravens in an attempt to free their long lost home world from the hordes of Chaos. The Retribution expansion takes place ten years after this and sees players have the ability to control any one of six different races in the Aurelia sector.
As well as the main campaigns players will be able to try their hand at multiplayer mode, The Last Stand which is a co-operative survival mode.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II and it’s expansions will be available to purchase for Mac and Linux systems on 29th September from Steam and the Feral Store.
Minimum Mac system requirements – 1.8 GHz CPU with at least 4GB RAM, 512MB or better graphics card, and Mac OS X 10.10.5 or later.
Minimum Linux system requirements – 2.0 GHz CPU with at least 4GB RAM, 1GB or better graphics card, and SteamOS 2.0 or Ubuntu 16.04 or better. The game also requires an NVIDIA 6xx/AMD 6xxxx/Intel Iris Pro series graphics card or better.
