With Doctor Strange out in cinemas today [read our review here], it’s time to look ahead to the future offerings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically Black Panther. We’ve had a few more cast additions over the last couple of months [see here and here], and now it’s been revealed a shooting date.
According to Tammy Smith Casting, Black Panther will start shooting in January 2017 in Atlanta, GA and will last until May. So we can expect our first set photos as a nice New Years present.
Story details are currently under wraps, but Lupita Nyong’o did reveal some details a few months ago saying, “The story of this Black Panther – what I am allowed to say – is that Black Panther’s leadership has been threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy.
Black Panther is set for release on February 16th 2018, and has Ryan Coogler (Creed) directing a cast that includes Chadwick Boseman (Captain America: Civil War) returning as T’Challa/Black Panther alongside Lupita Nyong’o (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Nakia, Michael B. Jordan (Fantastic Four) as Erik Killmonger, Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead) as Okoye, Winston Duke (Person of Interest) as M’Baku, Forest Whitaker (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Zuri, Daniel Kaluuya (Black Mirror) as W’Kabi, Florence Kasumba (Captain America: Civil War) as Ayo and Letitia Wright (Ready Player One) in an unknown role.
