In the latest in the ‘First Look’ series of videos for Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, Firaxis and 2K are introducing alternative leaders, which allow players to use a civ’s strengths to play differently beginning with Gorgo of Greece.
Gorgo was a Spartan and Queen to King Leonidas, she was a wise politician and capable warrior and helped form a coalition of Greek forces to stop the invading Persians.
Gorgo’s special ability is completely different to Pericles and will give a bonus to culture every time a Greek unit defeats an enemy. However, the Greeks under Gorgo’s rule still have the ‘Plato’s Republic’ ability which provides extra policy slots and still have access Hoplite unique unit and the Acropolis which replaces the theatre district and gives a culture bonus for being next to other districts.
Gorgo’s ability allows a completely different play style for fans of the Greeks and provides a challenge down a more aggressive route than that taken if led by Pericles.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is due for release on 21st October on PC.
