Before we get to anything else we need to address the poor Twitter user that Big E. put into the burn ward of a local medical facility last night.
In response to Kathernine Arnett saying The New Day need to stay in the back and never come out, Big E responded:
“You’re not the first woman to request this.”
GOOD GAWD ALMIGHTY! SHE’S BROKEN IN HALF!
After last night’s RAW, Mick Foley, Daniel Bryan and Stephanie and Shane McMahon appeared on a WWE Network special entitled State of WWE Universe. Which brought Raw to a total of four hours long. It’s like Summerslam all over again.
The special was used to hype this Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view where Smackdown wrestlers will go up against Raw stars. Stephanie called Bryan a B wrestler for the B show, Shane said how the best part of Survivor Series will be him getting to sit across from Stephanie at the McMahon Thanksgiving dinner knowing Smackdown is the better team – oh, to be a fly on the wall at McMahon family events – and Mick Foley said something about his book.
But what we were all really waiting for was Daniel Bryan, who currently gives – wait, let me total this up here…there was that many last month…carry the two – oh yeah, zero tosses about what he says.
The Smackdown GM has been the star of Talking Smack, mostly saying what he thinks while making it work in a kayfabe kind of way. He doesn’t feel like the usual, focus-group approved WWE promo. And it’s refreshingly great.
Bryan started by saying that all the Smackdown Live talents are in better positions than on Raw before the brand split – and that there are only a few wrestlers who have been booked better than they had been on Monday Nights, even with the three hour runtime.
But D-Bry was just getting warmed up.
When Mick Foley accused Bryan of caring more about wanting to wrestle again over his Smackdown General Manager role, the Beard erupted:
“You can’t hold it against me that I would rather be in the ring wrestling than being the general manager. Because 2001 when you quit, what did you do? You went to TNA and you went to wrestle!”
He said the forbidden word! He said…it!
This isn’t the first time Bryan has mentioned The Promotion That Should Not Be Named. On an episode of Talking Smack last month, he asked John Cena and Dean Ambrose if AJ Styles ever brags about being a Voldemort World Champion backstage.
Mickie James will be returning to a WWE ring this weekend to face Asuka at NXT Takeover: Toronto, which she spoke about on the TJRWrestling Podcast:
“Absolutely I would be completely open to being on WWE’s main roster again…I feel like there’s something unique, special and different that I can bring to the roster.”
When James was first announced as Asuka’s next opponent, many sites reported that WWE actually wanted Canada’s own Trish Stratus for the match, but she became pregnant with her second child and could no longer make the bout. Triple H denied this on last week’s NXT media call, saying James was always the plan. But then again…that’s what he would say.
