It’s rumour time! And remember, as we found out with the rumoured Survivor Series results I reported on last week, absolutely none of them turned out to be true. So take this with a bag of salt.
In CageSideSeats’ rumour round-up section, they’re saying there might be plans for Sasha Banks to turn heel within the next few months.
Despite arguably getting the more established stars in the draft – with Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and, later on, Bayley – Raw’s women’s division somehow feels much less developed than all the various feuds happening on Smackdown Live, preferring to focus on just one feud. Charlotte vs Banks. Which feels like the new Baron Corbin vs Dolph Ziggler.
It’ll never end.
With Charlotte seeming to be entering a feud with Bayley, the only other people Banks could enter a feud with are Nia Jax, Dana Brooke or the redebuting Emmalina – who are all, or probably will be, heels. So it’s difficult to see how a heel Banks slots in against any of them.
Shortly after the brand split, Shelton Benjamin was supposed to redebut to Smackdown Live, but he had to delay his return because of shoulder surgery. He’s since given an update on his WWE status on Twitter:
“For the record. I will make moves to return to @WWE when I am back to 110% physically. Anywhere from 4 to 6 months by my doc calculation.”
Sadly, someone who doesn’t seem to be returning anytime soon, though, is Tyson Kidd.
Kidd has been out from WWE since last June after suffering an incredibly dangerous injury in a dark match on Raw against Samoa Joe – so dangerous that 5% of people don’t survive it, and many others are left as quadriplegics. That Tyson Kidd isn’t in a wheelchair right now is enormously lucky.
He hasn’t returned to the ring yet because of the injury, but that doesn’t explain why he won’t be on the sixth season of Total Divas – a show that involves zero wrestling.
Tyson himself has tweeted about the situation…
“I’ve been taken off the show by @WWE you’ll have to contact them to figure it out. You won’t see me once this season. It’s all good”
“Oh believe me I don’t think they want my situation explained. I’ll leave it at that for now”
The “situation” Tyson is presumably referring to is his recovery from injury, and the tweet suggests that WWE have decided they don’t want to show that on Total Divas anymore.
