My name is Oli Davis, and I’m a Dana Brooke fan.
Come at me, bros.
Cleavage aside, I really like how she trash talks people in the ring, I think her mannerisms are wonderfully heelish and she has a great look. Unfortunately, she does screw up on the actual wrestling side of things. Maybe she should stick to arm wrestling matches.
According to Wrestling News World, Vince McMahon was also once high on Dana, with the original plan for her to become RAW’s top woman over Charlotte – which they seemed to be building with Brooke playing the enforcer-who-is-slowly-turning-Batista-babyface role a few weeks back. In a rare moment of clarity, though, Vince has apparently decided she’s not yet ready for that, and she hasn’t developed as quickly as he hoped.
The site also reports there’s gossip backstage that Brooke has become romantically involved with a writer, which some believe is why she’s been so prominently featured on WWE TV, and that she has heat with some of the other women because of it.
When I read that it reminded me of a line from the statement Cody Rhodes released when he left WWE earlier this year:
“…both ‘head writers’ of RAW & Smackdown (one pretending to be Brian Gewirtz and the other too busy hitting on developmental divas) continued to not return my pitches or e-mails…”
Dave Meltzer has noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Dana Brooke losing again the night after Hell in a Cell on Superstars to Alicia Fox and no longer being linked to Charlotte shows “they clearly have given up on her as a significant player in the last week.”
Ric Flair has appeared on Busted Open, where he talked about his daughter Charlotte’s Hell in a Cell match against Sasha Banks and revealed something we all feared…
“They took two huge spots out of the match, during the match, because they were afraid Sasha [Banks] was going to get hurt. If the original plan had been, there were two things and I don’t want to say what they were, but you can only imagine. One of them involved a moonsault.”
Yeah. So probably a moonsault off the top of the cage, then. Which would’ve flattened Banks.
After accidentally revealing Daniel Bryan as the Smackdown Live GM a week before it was announced earlier this year, WWE.com might have done it again! An image has been doing the rounds online of WWE’s Survivor Series page with a graphic showing already announced Team RAW members Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Braun Strowman and Chris Jericho – along with Sami Zayn right at the back.
Apparently Cesaro and Sheamus were originally meant to be in the team, but Vince changed his mind – guess when? – last minute ahead of this week’s RAW to include Strowman. He was reportedly scheduled to work with Sami Zayn at Survivor Series before this, so making them co-exist on Team RAW could be a way to keep their storyline going.
Before you say, ‘nice try, Baron Corbin’s at the front. This is obviously a fake.’ That’s the exact line-up WWE.com has, just with Sami Zayn’s position blanked out. Vince likes tall guys.
