WrestleZone’s Justin LaBar broke the news yesterday that Chris Jericho and Sin Cara were involved in a real-life fight backstage during WWE’s international tour, and now the full story appears to have come out. And it’s even more ridiculous than any of us could’ve hoped.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that the incident occurred while the Raw crew were travelling from Leeds in England to Glasgow in Scotland via coach on Sunday night.
Apparently Sin Cara kept making annoying noises on the bus even though others had told him to stop. Jericho then told Sin Cara “more forcefully” to stop…it… to which the luchador responded:
More words were exchanged, and then Sin Cara threw a wild right at Jericho outta nowhere, at which point everyone jumped in to break it up. During the scuffle, Jericho allegedly bit Sin Cara’s finger. Which is a heel move, through and through. What else did he do? Rake the eyes? Have his feet on the ropes for leverage?
One description said that Sin Cara just suddenly “snapped in two seconds without any warning or reason” and that he was kicked off the bus.
PWInsider are reporting that following the altercation, Jericho yelled that Sin Cara wouldn’t be working for the company much longer.
Both men were on Raw the next night, where Jericho wrestled in the main event, and Sin Cara won with Rich Swann against Noam Dar and Brian Kendrick.
Jim Ross has confirmed these reports, saying he spoke to Y2J who said, “it was largely about nothing and that it resembled more of a scuffle than a full fledged fight. Sin Cara threw one punch and then the minor melee was broken up.”
Jericho has had well-noted backstage confrontations with Goldberg and Brock Lesnar in the past, while Sin Cara Dos is rumoured to have a now 5-0 win streak in real-life fights, having come to blows with Simon Gotch and Sheamus before.
