The second season of the hit anime series Attack on Titan is set to premiere in April 2017, having originally been slated to arrive this year. The release date was revealed on the jacket of Hajime Isayama’s 21st volume of they Attack on Titan manga series, before Funimation announced that it has acquired the rights to air the second season in North America.
“Attack on Titan became an instant hit since it first streamed in 2013 and we are thrilled to bring fans the long-awaited Season 2 of the series,” said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of Funimation. “Attack on Titan is truly a worldwide phenomenon that has continued to grow at a non-stop pace. Fans can look forward to an exciting second season.”

At this point it’s unclear when the second season will premiere, but it is expected that Funimation will simulcast the series alongside its Japanese broadcast.
