Universal Pictures gave us our first look at the eighth instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise this past Sunday, and the trailer for The Fate of the Furious has gone on to shatter the record for the most views in its first 24 hours.
The trailer for The Fate of the Furious was viewed a whopping 139 times in its first day, smashing the previous record of 127 million views set by Disney’s Beauty and the Beast back in November.
The previous Fast & Furious films have grossed $3.9 billion at the worldwide box office, with the latest instalment Furious 7 accounting for $1.5 billion alone. Given the interest in the new chapter, expect The Fate of the Furious to push the franchise to the $5 billion mark.
