Joel Huenink (aka Madmole) of The Fun Pimps has unveiled more 7 Days to Die Alpha 16 news this week in this latest news video. Fans of the hit PC zombie survival game get to see more changes and additions coming in Alpha 16 including distant places of interest, some UMA zombie replacements and a couple of terrifying potential end game level zombies. Watch the latest Alpha 16 video below.
Joel starts this weeks video with a new shape that will be great news for builders. The new gutter shape for buildings will add that finishing touch for those who want to build realistic structures. This guttering will also lead to proper drain pipes which have got fans asking….will there be the ability to use these to collect rainwater?
The next portion of the video introduces us to two replacements to UMA zombies. The new football zombies and fat lady zombies look a lot more scary and hopefully will move and perform better than their UMA predecessors.
Talking of zombies, many hardcore fans complain that there are little in the way of challenges in the later stages of the game but now Joel may just have the answer to that. The first of the possible new zombie types is the Resurrector Zombie. This zombie will be so mutated that he would be able to resurrect slain zombies in a similar way to the Glowing One Feral Ghouls from Fallout 4. Will give players another reason to clean up their gore blocks. The second potential zombie is the Behemoth Zombie. As the name suggests this would be a giant of a beast, so hideously mutated that it has tumours and bones erupting from its skin. This zombie would certainly force players to rethink how they built their bases.
The main focus for the video are screenshots featuring the new ‘Distant Places of Interest (POIs)’. Similar to the distant terrain feature the Distant POIs will allow players to see if any towns or buildings await them in the direction they are heading. This promises to make the game so much more immersive to survivors.
Finally, we are treated to a screenshot from a Random Gen’ world that shows a new town created using the socket system. The town is no longer a square but is built so that it moulds around the topography.
