Rooney Mara’s Una returns to remind Ben Mendelsohn’s Ray of the worst thing he’s ever done in the intense first trailer for Una. Watch the trailer for the acclaimed film below…
Several months ago, Una made its debut at the Telluride Film Festival, followed by subsequent screenings at the Toronto International and BFI London Film Festivals. Critics described the movie as a disturbing and difficult thriller that is well worth seeking out and praised the performances of both Mara and Mendelsohn.
With Una, Australian theater director Benedict Andrews makes his directorial film debut; the project is adapted from David Harrower’s 2005 play Blackbird.
The film also features a mini Rogue One reunion between Mendelsohn, who played Orson Krennic, and Riz Ahmed, who played Bodhi Rook (although the two surprisingly didn’t share any scenes together in the Star Wars Anthology film).
The rest of the cast includes Tobias Menzies, Indira Varma and Tara Fitzgerald, who, coincidentally, have all appeared on HBO’s Game of Thrones as Brutus, Ellaria Sand and Selyse Baratheon, respectively.
When a young woman unexpectedly arrives at an older man’s workplace, looking for answers, the secrets of the past threaten to unravel his new life. Their confrontation will uncover buried memories and unspeakable desires. It will shake them both to the core.
As of now, the film hasn’t secured distribution in a number of territories, including the US and UK, but will debut in Shaw Theatres in Singapore on January 19th.
