Colossal made the rounds both late last year and earlier this year at a number of festivals, including Fantastic Fest and Sundance, where it scored mostly positive reviews from critics. Reactions made it clear that Hathaway’s layered performance and the bizarre central premise were clear highlights and made up for the film’s more frustrating aspects. General audiences will be able to judge for themselves when the film comes to theaters on April 7th.
