Production has been halted on the Joe Carnahan-directed Bad Boys for Life, apparently due to the busy real lives of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence along with their difficulties getting a script ready.
It also seems that Will Smith could be placing other roles he is being offered (such as a key one in Disney’s live-action Dumbo to be directed by Tim Burton) above the importance of doing another Bad Boys film.
Now, according to Exhibitor Relations, as a result the action blockbuster has been delayed from January 2018 to November that year. Furthermore, Bad Boys 4 has also been pushed from 2019 to an unspecified date.
The last time we spoke with Carnahan, he told us the script for Bad Boys For Life was being re-written by Lawrence and Smith, so there is a chance issues have arisen from that.
