Bioware seems to be taking a very careful approach to crafting sidequests for Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Speaking to DualShockers, Mass Effect: Andromeda producer Fabrice Condiminas had this to say: “We are approaching the completionist aspect very differently, because we’ve done and learned a lot from Inquisition. But we’ve also observed what other games have been doing, like The Witcher.”
He goes on to stress that these sidequests will be smaller in scope, and all the better for it: “… it was very important for us that the quantity of scope doesn’t downgrade the quality of whatever your are doing there.”
This is excellent news. As we all know, even the best games are often guilty of boring sidequests. For every Dark Brotherhood-caliber sidequest in a video game, there are always an equal, or greater amount of titles with bland fetch-quests.
Mass Effect: Andromeda releases March 21st, 2017.
