During Bioware’s PAX East panel, they showed off quite a large chunk of gameplay from their upcoming interstellar RPG Mass Effect: Andromeda. Courtesy of Dualshockers, this gameplay video gives us an extended look at a loyalty mission for fellow squadmate, and weapons specialist Liam Costa. Loyalty missions were used in Mass Effect 2 as a way to flesh out the backstories of your crew. They were missing in Mass Effect 3, but they are back now. Have a look at the gameplay footage below (Spoiler Warning):
It’s nice to see loyalty missions back for Mass Effect: Andromeda. In an RPG of this scale, there is nothing more frustrating than one-dimensional characters. On the other hand, it is also frustrating to be forced through tons of exposition if all you really want to do is breeze through the main plot. Playing these missions is a great way to add depth to the characters, and universe(es) of Mass Effect: Andromeda, but only if you’re so inclined. Mass Effect Andromeda is set for a March 21st release in North America, and March 23rd in Europe.
