Street Fighter II, the most iconic fighting game of all time is making a comeback and will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch on the 26th May in the guise of Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. This latest iteration of the classic game includes all the characters that we know and love and will also introduce two more to the roster. All the original fighters from Balrog to Zangief will be making a return in Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers plus, for the first time in almost 20 years, two new fighters will be added to the fighter’s roster: Evil Ryu and Violent Ken.
As well as the two new characters Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will feature casual and ranked matches and also a new co-op mode where players can team up with a friend to take on a CPU opponent. Players will also be able to choose to play using the new refined graphics or take a trip down memory lane with the pixel art graphics.
Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers also takes full advantage of the Nintendo Switch by allowing gamers to play on Nintendo Switch TV, Tabletop and Handheld modes. Players will also be able to use the motion controls of the Joy-Con in the new ‘Way of the Hado’ mode that allows for a single player first person experience that sees your character take on the Shadaloo army using signature Hadoken and Shoryuken special moves.
Finally, gamers will be able to browse through a 250+ page digital art book that includes over 1,500 illustrations from the franchise’s 30 year history.
Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will be available on the Nintendo Switch on the 26th May.
