Joel Huenink from The Fun Pimps shares more 7 Days to Die Alpha 16 news in a brand new video. This latest update video showcases the new hazmat Zombie, Dire Wolfs, turret progress, night vision and random generation world gameplay. Watch the update video below…
Starting off this week’s video is the new hand drawn Hazmat zombie to replace the UMA zombie that never really worked out as The Fun Pimps wanted. Given the rough condition the Hazmat Zombie is in the suit didn’t afford him that much protection. Praise has certainly got to be given to the artists who worked on this chap and all the zombies. Talking of zombies leads me to mention gore blocks and according to Joel these will soon be no more.
Next up we are introduced to the new Dire Wolf. We’ve already met the normal wolf in a previous video and they are pretty much Alsatian sized but when compared to the new Dire Wolf they may as well be a Poodle. The Dire Wolf is a huge creature that more than likely has an ugly temper. Definitely a creature to steer clear of.
We have seen how effective the turret can be in a previous Alpha 16 video (see here) but now there have been lots of improvements and it is looking so much better. The turret will now feature a means to target specific opponents with options for zombies, strangers, allies and, rather bizarrely, yourself. There will also be a camera preview attached to the turret’s menu so you can fine tune where it will aim. All in all it is coming on in leaps and bounds.
There’s been lots of mentions of stealth features for Alpha 16 and Joel showcases the progress made so far. During play, Joel takes us into the world at night with nothing but a crossbow and the new night vision goggles. Night vision have had a huge overhaul and they are no longer the pixelated bright green things they used to be, instead they look much more realistic and with zombies now reacting to light sources this often overlooked piece of equipment may now prove to be more useful.
Finally, Joel showcases gameplay on a new random gen’ world with lots of the new Alpha 16 things on show to get excited about. During the gameplay we get to see the distant terrain with town buildings shown, vultures flying overhead and often at his head, snakes, wolfs, Fat Hawaiian Shirt zombie (AKA Disturbed Tourist), the new HD textures, 3D ladders, sleepers and much more. Alpha 16 really is starting to all come together perfectly.
