It looks like we’re going to have to wait a little long for Red Dead Redemption 2, with Rockstar Games announcing that the hotly-anticipated sequel has been pushed back to Spring 2018.
“This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans,” reads the official announcement. “We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.”
To soften the blow, Rockstar also unveiled a couple of new screenshots for the game…
As yet, we know nothing about the plot for Red Dead Redemption, but speculation has suggested that the game will be a prequel to the first Red Dead Redemption focussing on protagonist John Marston and the notorious Dutch’s Gang.
