Indie developer Huey Games, founded by industry veterans Rob Hewson, Andrew Hewson and John Ogden have announced that their retro inspired shoot ‘em up Hyper Sentinel will be released on the Nintendo Switch later this year. Watch the new announcement trailer below…
Hyper Sentinel is a 60 FPS fast paced shoot ’em up that features 12 levels packed to the brim with enemies, power ups and boss battles and will provide 3 difficulty levels to challenge all players. Players will have access to a variety of weapon upgrades to help them carve through the enemy and scores can really be built up with the combo-chain score system.
This pixel art homage to the good old days of gaming will give players 60 medals to complete, online leaderboards and an exciting SID style chiptune soundtrack created by Fractures to get your trigger finger itching.
“We are thrilled to be bringing HYPER SENTINEL to Nintendo’s newest platform. The fast-paced, high-score chasing gameplay loop is a perfect match for the Switch, and we cannot wait for players to take this amazing experience with them on the go.” – Rob Hewson, CEO & Creative Director of Huey Games Ltd.
Hyper Sentinel has been inspired by the shoot ‘em ups from back in the day (Uridium, Cybernoid, Delta and Defender) and veteran gamers may discover many references of those good old days.
Hyper Sentinel will be released on the Nintendo Switch alongside the Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC (via Steam), Android, iOS and Amazon later this year.
