Indie developer Big Way Games have announced a 12th May Steam Early Access release date for their hardcore sandbox RPG, Steam Hammer. After a successful Beta, Steam Hammer will be released on Early Access giving gamers the opportunity to venture into a dark and mysterious steampunk world. Watch the new Early Access trailer below…
In Steam Hammer players will be transported to a 19th century alternate reality where the steam engine is the ultimate form of power and is the source of energy for everything from factories, to airships. Even mechanisms and fortifications all rely on this source of energy. In this Victorian steampunk setting players will be able to construct over 30 different buildings including houses, mines, tunnels, ditches and fortifications to create their world. They will also be able to create and customise their own fleet of airships to defend against their enemies.
Players will be able to craft over 40 different types of weapons and armour to use in combat against enemies and wild animals.
Steam Hammer provides an open class system to allow players to choose from a variety of different skills including engineer, scientist, farmer, gunsmith and sharpshooter and switch between these skills when they want. However, the game features a realistic skill development so if you want to master a particular skill you will have to put the effort in.
Steam Hammer will be available on Steam Early Access on the 12th May but if you can’t wait that long then Beta access is currently available at a fantastic 50% discount until its release on Early Access. Anyone who purchases the beta will receive the full game upon its release at no extra charge.
