Fans of VR gaming and intense shoot ’em ups will more than likely be frothing at the bit as Doom VFR was announced for the HTC Vive and Playstation 4 VR at Bethesda’s E3 briefing. Doom VFR will provide an immersive Doom experience that will take gamers to Mars and into Hell in a way never experienced before and should arrive this year. Doom VFR is a new virtual reality game from legendary developer id Software that takes players to the UAC Martian research facility where demons have killed all life except for you. As the last survivor it is your task to restore operational stability and stop the demon invasion. Fortunately your consciousness has been transferred to an artificial intelligence matrix and as such allows you to transfer your consciousness to UAC devices and robots to solve puzzles and gain access to new areas.
Players will have access to all kinds classic Doom weaponry and will also have a Teleport and Jet-Strafe ability so you can move quickly in combat and close the distance between you and the demons in an instant.
“Developing a DOOM game specifically for virtual reality has provided an exciting opportunity to not only surround players with the world of DOOM like never before, but also let them experience and explore the UAC and Hell in new ways, playing as new characters with totally unique tools and abilities,” says Robert Duffy, CTO at id Software.

Revealed at Bethesda’s E3 2017 Showcase, DOOM VFR is a new virtual reality game from legendary developer id Software, coming to PlayStation VR and VIVE platforms.
Doom VFR will be available for the HTC Vive and Playstation VR later this year.
