Joel Huenink (Aka Madmole) from The Fun Pimps brings us more Alpha 16 gameplay in the latest 7 Days to Die video. This brand new gameplay video brings survivors a glimpse of Joel’s random gen’ world, a look at the different POI’s and a tour round his excellent looking castle. Watch the gameplay video below…
To start the video, Joel takes us on a little tour of the the random gen world pointing out little improvements to the look of the game such as how they have added more trees on the plains biome and how cars are now adjusted to being placed on hills. As we are led into the town we once again get the opportunity to see how naturally the town folds around the environment rather than being a big square in the landscape. Throughout the town Joel points out the many new POI’s that we have seen over the past few months including the firestation, tower, daycare center, academy, mansion and Zackary’s Laundromat. Plus some older POI’s that haven’t appeared in Random Gen’ worlds such as the hospital and the hotel that Joel made initially for Alpha 15. The new paint system and shapes introduced for Alpha 16 has certainly allowed for so much more variety in buildings.
Joel’s castle is a huge structure on a hill and looks absolutely brilliant, although I’m sure many survivors among you will say it is totally inadequate for seeing off a horde. However, it is while we are here that Joel introduces the Copy Rotation feature. This feature greatly speeds up building as it will remember the rotation of the block beneath it even if you happen to switch to a different block. This is an especially useful feature as we all know how infuriating it is to want to place a block but have to rotate it x amount of times to get to the one we want.
In my opinion, when you look at all the improvements made to the game in Alpha 16, these months of waiting have been well worth it. But what do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
