After smashing the Kickstarter goal by over £100,000, Square Enix Collective have announced that the anime inspired, side scrolling point and click adventure Tokyo Dark will be coming to Steam on the 7th September. This announcement has also been accompanied by a trailer showcasing how great the game looks and can be seen below.
Tokyo Dark, created by Tokyo based developer Cherrymochi, is a psychological adventure themed around the urban legends that have grown within Japan’s capital city. With plenty of story branches and endings included there is certainly plenty to keep gamers busy as they play through this mystery adventure.
In Tokyo Dark players take the role of Detective Ayami Itō who takes to the streets in search for her missing partner. Players will need to follow clues and make decisions that will affect her relationship with the citizens. Dialogue choices will steer the story in different directions while puzzles can be solved in multiple ways providing lots of variety.
“In Tokyo Dark, we want the player to be constantly questioning whether they’re one step away from solving the puzzle, or one step away from madness. Are they slowly unearthing the city’s dark living shadows, hidden from view, or are they imagining it all?” Maho Williams, Producer at Cherrymochi.
Look out for Tokyo Dark coming to Steam on the 7th September.
