Digital board game specialists Asmodee Digital have announced the release of the digital version of the award winning tile laying board game, Carcassonne, onto PC and Mac via Steam, while a new version of the game is also available for Android devices. Carcassonne is based on the tile board game and sees players take on a role as founders of a region where building cities, abbeys and roads is the path to success and victory. The game will require the construction of these cities through the placement of one tile each turn plus the option of placing a Meeple within the cities. Tiles can be used to expand players cities or hinder their opponents so provides plenty of opportunities for those who love to think strategically.
The new Android version of Carcassonne contains beautiful new artwork, updated AI behaviours and brand new features such as a pass and play mode and asynchronous online play. Players will also be able to compare scores from ranked games with those around the world with the new leaderboard.
Carcassonne is available on Steam now for PC and Mac, priced £6.99/ $9.99.
