Tag Team Champion Arrested for DUI
Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed that current Smackdown Live Tag Team Champion Jey Uso, real name, Joshua Fatu, was arrested this past weekend in Texas for reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Uso was pulled over and arrested around 1 am on Sunday morning and was released later the following day.
Just what this means for the current tag champ is currently unknown, as he did appear on last night’s edition of Smackdown Live, where he and his brother, Jimmy, were attacked during a backstage interview by their Royal Rumble opponents, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin.
New US Champion Crowned on Smackdown
Bobby Roode defeated Jinder Mahal on last night’s edition of Smackdown Live to become the new United States champion. The title has been vacant since Dolph Ziggler left it in the middle of the ring at the end of December and the company had originally announced that the finals of the tournament for the title would be held at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
The fact that they brought the match forward is being seen as an indication that Dolph Ziggler could return to the company before the Royal Rumble and announce himself as the true United States Champion- setting up a unification match at the Rumble.
WWE Confirms Signings of Three Superstars
Yesterday the WWE finally confirmed the long-rumored signings of Ricochet, and the tag team War Machine. Ricochet, real name Trevor Mann, has made quite the name for himself in the last few years thanks to his high flying wrestling style, while War Machine, a team consisting of Hanson and Raymond Rowe are former tag team champions in both ROH and NJPW.
It seems unlikely that the wrestlers will be sent up to the main roster, with some fans even predicting that Ricochet will end up working in 205 Live, which many would consider to be a bit of a step down for the promising young talent.
