Big Event to Take Place on the WWE Network
Last week, the WWE announced that they will be holding their first ever 50 man Rumble at a live event in Saudi Arabia. The event, titled ‘The Greatest Rumble Ever’ will take place on April 27th.
When the event was announced, fans were quick to ask whether the match, given its historic gimmick, would take place on the WWE Network or not. Speaking on Sam Roberts’ Sirius XFM Radio Show, Roman Reigns seemingly confirmed that the event would be taking place on the network.
Reigns said: ‘Hopefully I’m not giving spoilers here, but I believe it’s going to be a huge Network special’. The WWE themselves have yet to confirm that this is true, but Reigns, given the position he is in the company, is likely to be a fairly reliable source on the matter.
The prize for the victor of the match still remains unclear at this point in time, but the company is expected to attempt to get several old stars back to perform in the bout.
Next Name for the Hall of Fame?
Rumours of Mark Henry’s induction into this year’s Hall of Fame have been doing the rounds for some time now. Wrestling Inc reported this weekend that Henry was going to be inducted into this year’s class by sharing a picture from the WWE’s WrestleMania magazine, which featured an interview with the former Heavyweight Champion.
The WWE is yet to confirm Henry’s spot in the Hall of Fame, but with this image doing the rounds on the internet, it is likely they will announce it on this week’s Raw.
Henry will join Goldberg, Ivory, Jeff Jarrett, The Dudley Boyz, Hillbilly Jim, Kid Rock and Jarrius Robertson in the Hall of Fame class of 2018.
Rey Mysterio Update
In rather surprising news, the Tennessean is reporting that Rey Mysterio has signed with Aro Lucha, a Mexican wrestling promotion, as a performer and a co-owner. The company are currently promoting a crowd-funded opener ship campaign, and are currently seeking a TV deal for their first season of programming.
It remains to be seen what this will mean for Rey Mysterio and the WWE.
