In a rather odd twist of events, the WWE has announced via their Twitter page that The Undertaker’s match with Rusev at ‘The Greatest Royal Rumble’ event has been changed, and the Deadman will now face Chris Jericho, who was previously announced for the Rumble match itself, instead. The match has also been confirmed as a casket match.

There is no word yet as to why this change happened, but many are speculating it may be a punishment for an interview Rusev gave to TMZ earlier today. Rusev said, during the interview- “It’s Rusev Day, you know? Undertaker is kind of a little bit in the past”. This prompted a response from The Undertaker’s wife, Michelle McCool on Twitter.
Had to listen to see if “crush his old a$$” was ACTUALLY said! Guess some people are smarter than others…😎🙄🖤 https://t.co/avOLWKORV8

Rusev has been fairly vocal on social media over the last couple of months, expressing his concerns with his current booking. Several outlets were also reporting that he requested his release from the company before WrestleMania 34, and that was the reason for his seemingly random entry into the United States title match at the event – a match that he would lose to Jinder Mahal.
What time all means for everyone’s favourite Bulgarian remains to be seen, though there are many concerned fans on social media worrying that this could all end up leading to Rusev’s release. Which, on Rusev Day, of all days, would be a crying shame. There is no word yet as to whether or not Rusev will feature on the Greatest Royal Rumble card in any other capacity.
