Samoa Joe Vs Rey Mysterio – US Championship
After being forced to put on a squash match at WrestleMania thanks to an injury to Rey Mysterio, fans will be hoping that these two veterans will be given a chance to show the WWE Universe what they can do together this Sunday.
The most intriguing element in this match, oddly enough, is Rey Mysterio’s son, Dominic, who has been involved in their feud up to this point and who is reportedly training with the WWE.
Whether it’s because of Dominic or not though, things aren’t going to end well for Mysterio on Sunday night, and there is every chance that his son is going to turn on him some point in the near future.
Prediction: Samoa Joe retains
Roman Reigns Vs Elias
For the second year running, Roman Reigns will take part in a seemingly random thrown together match with an upper mid-card heel at Money in the Bank as he takes on Elias.
Elias hasn’t taken part in a singles contest on PPV for what feels like a lifetime and while it would be nice to see him pick up the victory here, there is little to chance that Reigns is going to lose this.
Unfortunately, this match feels as though it only exists to bide the time for a match between Shane McMahon and Roman Reigns.
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins
Seth Rollins Vs AJ Styles – Universal Championship
While there is an argument to be made that the WWE has jumped the gun with this match-up, this could be a serious match of the year contender if it isn’t given enough time, and a strong performance should protect both men.
Despite having the most potential of any of the matches on the card, it is also the most predictable. Rollins has only just won the belt and there is no benefit to taking it off at him at this point. The Universal Championship needs to finally have a consistent champion appearing on television every week, and they have finally found that in Seth Rollins.
Prediction: Seth Rollins retains
Kofi Kingston Vs Kevin Owens – WWE Championship
As much as I love Kevin Owens, the chances of the WWE taking the Championship off Kofi just yet feel slim to none. The two men will no doubt put on an excellent match, and there is the chance that the company may want to tease tension within The New Day and have Xavier Woods cause a DQ finish by accident or something, but I can’t see them going down that road just yet.
As great as KO is, the WWE are clearly pushing Shane McMahon (sigh) as SmackDown’s big heel right now, so don’t bank on him being the one to dethrone Kingston when they decide to.
Prediction: Kofi Kingston retains his title
Money in the Bank Match – Mandy Rose Vs Carmella Vs Ember Moon Vs Bayley Vs Nikki Cross Vs Dana Brooke Vs Naomi Vs Natalya
Looking at this match, there feels as though there are three feasible winners here – Ember Moon, Mandy Rose, and Bayley. All three women would benefit massively from winning the briefcase and all of them could easily become the next big star of the SmackDown Women’s division.
Of the three though, Mandy Rose feels as though she would be the one who would benefit the most, and the briefcase has historically always been better off in the hands of a heel. There is also the added fact that Sonya Deville allowed her friend to take the spot in this match, which could always play into some sort of issue between the two performers in the coming months.
Prediction: Mandy Rose is Miss Money in the Bank 2019
Money in the Bank Ladder Match – Drew McIntyre Vs Sami Zayn Vs Baron Corbin Vs Ricochet Vs Ali Vs Andrade Vs Randy Orton Vs Finn Balor
Minus Randy Orton, this is one of the freshest line ups in recent Money in the Bank history and should promise an interesting winner regardless of the outcome.
After two years of failed cash-ins, the WWE will want to make sure they get the winner right at this year’s show, and while there is an argument to be made for Sami Zayn, especially given the last minute nature of his inclusion in the match, smart money in this would be on either Drew McIntyre or Andrade.
Both of these men are being pegged as future world champions, and both of them arrive in the match with some solid momentum behind them. As much as I would personally love to see Andrade take the briefcase here, I suspect the WWE will want the briefcase to be on Raw to keep things interesting, so I’m giving this one to McIntyre.
Prediction: Drew McIntyre is Mr Money in the Bank 2019
