Liam Hoofe with his predictions for WWE TLC 2019…
This Sunday night, the WWE presents their final PPV of 2019, TLC. The show comes just three weeks after their last show, Survivor Series. In spite of a rushed build, the show’s card actually has some potentially quality matches and it could turn out to be a great way for WWE to sign out in 2019 before kick-starting their road to WrestleMania next month.
Let’s take a look at each of the matches listed for TLC and see what the most likely outcomes are.
Buddy Murphy vs Aleister Black
Aleister Black has not wrestled on PPV since his excellent match with Cesaro earlier in the year, while Buddy Murphy has not had a spot on a main-card since his pre-show defeat at WrestleMania. Both of these things are a travesty. These two men are two of the best performers in the WWE and this match could steal the show if given the right amount of time.
Frankly, I don’t really mind which of these guys wins and chances are, they will put on such a good performance that it won’t really matter. Black is going to walk away with this one though and then return to waiting for someone to knock on his door.
Prediction: Aleister Black wins
The Viking Raiders Open Challenge
The Viking Raiders have thrown out an open challenge for their match at TLC. There are several candidates who could come out and face them including the Street Profits and the OC. The former lost to the Raiders on Raw this past week, so it wouldn’t be wise to have them lose twice in a week. The OC have history here and it makes sense to have the two teams go head to head at TLC. Whoever they face, the Viking Raiders are keeping their titles Sunday.
Prediction: The Viking Raiders retain
The Revival vs The New Day
Adding the ladder match stipulation to this on SmackDown could prove to be a stroke of genius. These two teams have great chemistry together and they could really put on an excellent show with the ladders chucked into the mix. The New Day should finish the year strong and pick up the victory in this one.
Prediction: The New Day retain
Bobby Lashley vs Rusev
The less said about this feud the better. The whole thing has been a mess but sadly, the WWE aren’t likely to put a lid on it on Sunday. They will want to extend this feud so that Rusev can pick up the big win later down the line. Expect Lana to cost her ‘ex-husband’ on Sunday night, allowing Lashley to pick up the victory.
Prediction: Bobby Lashley wins
The Kabuki Warriors vs Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair
This match has all the potential in the world, providing the WWE don’t overbook it and give it the wrong ending. The Kabuki Warriors have been great since turning heel and its about time someone was given a reasonably long run with the tag-team titles. There are many things that could happen in this match but it would be great to see Asuka pick up the win and enter into a small feud with Lynch to keep the champ busy till Mania. The WWE would be foolish to take the belts off the Kabuki Warriors on Sunday.
Prediction: The Kabuki Warriors retain
Roman Reigns vs Baron Corbin
It’s a shame the WWE had to get silly with this feud. The dog stuff has been tiresome and hasn’t really done Corbin any favours but Reigns is more over now than he has been in some time. He should pick up the win here before re-entering the Universal title scene in the coming months. The WWE will want to book him to take on The Fiend at Mania and he has to be one of the favourites for the Royal Rumble, so a win on Sunday is a must.
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins
The Miz vs Bray Wyatt
This is one of the most curious matches on the card. Having Wyatt enter the match as himself is going to be interesting and there is always the possibility of Daniel Bryan showing up. The WWE could book this as a straight match with Wyatt picking up the win or they could have some shenanigans that involve Bryan coming down or Wyatt turning into The Fiend. Either way, Bray Wyatt should pick up the win in this one.
Prediction: Bray Wyatt wins
