Man of Steel could get an IMAX remaster says Zack Snyder

January 6, 2021 by Samuel Brace

Zack Snyder, the director of Man of Steel, says the 2013 movie could receive an IMAX remaster in the future.

Right now, the Zack Snyder project everyone is focused on is his cut of Justice League but could there room for the director to re-visit one of his older DC movies?

Well, in a recent interview with Comic Book Debate, he was asked if Man of Steel could be revisited with an IMAX remaster. The director sounded interested in the idea: “I think it’s worth a look, it probably does need a remaster. It’s been a while since we’ve taken a look at it.”

Snyder also touched on how one of his DC films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has received a similar remaster: “BvS happened because we had noticed that there was a color mistake in one of the releases of Batman v Superman. We just looked into it and I was like, ‘Hey, what happened?’ I guess it’s a technical snafu but I was like, ‘This is a great opportunity for us to go back and fix it and do the IMAX release and let everybody see every bit of it, see the whole movie.'”

Snyder is obviously a busy man right now, with plenty more on his plate after Justice League, but who knows, perhaps fans will one day be heading out to watch a remastered Man of Steel.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, Jared Leto as The Joker and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
