George Lucas has seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens and “really liked it”, according to Kathleen Kennedy

December 5, 2015 by Gary Collinson

It’s not quite a public endorsement from the man himself, but Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy has told The Hollywood Reporter that George Lucas is one of only a handful of people to have seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and that the creator of the saga “really liked it.”

Kennedy added that Lucas will attend the premiere, and that the process has been tough for him, “watching this go on without his direct involvement. At the same time, he really wanted to step away. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about George is it’s that he’s never, ever held back. Having him 100 percent on board is up to him and he can’t do that unless he’s running everything.”

It will be interested to hear Lucas’ thoughts on Star Wars: The Force Awakens directly, following his recent comments that Disney rejected his ideas for the Sequel Trilogy and weren’t keen to have him involved with the new movies.
