Back in March it was reported that James Bobin (The Muppets) was in talks to helm Sony Pictures’ Men in Black / Jump Street crossover, and now the filmmaker has confirmed that he’ll be directing the project, which is going by the title of MIB 23.
“Yes, it’s very early stages, obviously,” Bobin tells Coming Soon during a press interview for his new film Alice Though the Looking Glass. “I’ve always loved the Men in Black world. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street are just so funny. Those guys and their world makes me laugh every time I think about it. That’s always a good sign for a film.”
Plot details for MIB 23 are being kept under wraps, but it’s thought that Sony will be using it to relaunch the Men in Black franchise with a younger cast, with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones unlikely to return.
