Syfy is looking to bring Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s Image Comics series Happy! to the small screen, with the network ordering a pilot from Universal Cable Productions. Crank helmer Brian Taylor is set to direct the pilot, and will also write the script and executive produce alongside Morrison.
Happy! follows “Nick Sax – an intoxicated, corrupt cop-turned-hit man — who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse.”
The comic book adaptation is one of three pilots ordered by Fox, alongside supernatural horror-drama Haunted from writer Noga Landau (The Magicians), and sci-fi thriller The Machine, based upon Caradog James’ 2013 feature film.
