Spanish thriller The Fury of a Patient Man set for U.S. remake

July 31, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Albert Hughes, co-director on the likes of Menace II Society and The Book of Eli, has signed on to direct a remake of the Goya Award-winning Spanish thriller The Fury of a Patient Man, THR has revealed.

The film is scripted by Javier Gullon and “centers around a quiet man who seeks revenge on the criminals who turned his life upside down after a violent robbery. The man enlists the help of a recently released convict who was part of the crime.”

The project reunites Hughes with Studio 8, with the two having recently teamed for the upcoming prehistoric epic Alpha, which is set to open on March 2nd 2018 [watch the trailer here]. Production on The Fury of a Patient Man is expected to get underway in the spring of 2018.
