Tintin heading to mobile devices with new video game

March 16, 2018 by Gary Collinson

The intrepid reporter Tintin is heading to mobile devices, with Hugo Games announced that it has signed an agreement to develop a mobile game based on the original stories, characters and mysteries from the legendary Tintin albums created by Belgian cartoonist Hergé.

“This is great news for Hugo Games and for gamers, because we will bring one of the most beloved characters in comic history, the legendary Tintin, to mobile devices,” says Henrik Nielsen, Hugo Games CEO. “The key ingredients of a great game are a strong story line and good characters, and you don’t get them much better than in the fantastic Tintin universe. Everybody around the world knows Tintin, as well as the characters including Captain Haddock and Professor Tournesol (Professor Calculus in English). We are very pleased to be able to work with the IP’s of Moulinsart.”

This will be the first time a mobile game will be built on the contents of the original Tintin books, and feature content from all 24 albums. The game will be a “Match 3” puzzle game for mobile devices and will be loyal to the content of the books, as gamers will travel through the same exotic signature places known from the comics while solving Match 3 puzzles. When the gamers succeed, they will unlock more iconic characters, scenes and items related to the comic books.

Look for the Tintin mobile game in 2019.
