Tom Hardy confirms Al Capone is his next movie role

March 8, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Tom Hardy has taken to social media to confirm that the Al Capone movie Fonzo will he his next cinematic endeavour.

Hardy is certainly one of the more interesting actors working in Hollywood today, amassing an eclectic range of characters, across all kinds of genres. His next role will see him taking on one of history’s most notorious criminals, and will require all of his trademark screen presence.

The Al Capone movie Fonzo has been in the works for sometime but now we have confirmation that things are getting under way very soon as Hardy has posted on instagram that the prohibition era gangster will be the next character he will look to disappear into.

Josh Trank is still reportedly on board to direct, and a synopsis for Fonzo can be read below (via Screen Rant):

“Once a ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Alfonse Capone was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore. At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Alfonse’s mind and his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life.”
