Mark Hamill praises kid for using Jedi training against bully

August 30, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself, has praised a child on social media for using the principles of Jedi training to overcome bullying.

While Jedi, as we all know, are seasoned combat practitioners, capable of incredible feats during a duel and often quite at home in a war-like scenario thanks to their lightsabers and force abilities, the order is not supposed to give in to anger or thoughts of revenge.

Recently, a 10-year-old boy named Aiden Vazquez used the same Jedi Code to deal with bullies. He had possessions stolen and was physically attacked, ending up in hospital. When his mother asked why he didn’t fight back, Aiden said that it wasn’t the Jedi way to retaliate.

The kid’s actions have drawn plaudits from a real-life Jedi (well, close enough) with Mark Hamill tweeting out how proud he is of the child: “SHOUT OUT to Aiden Vazquez for his courage & wisdom in the face of adversity. I’m so proud of you for showing that you can be a Jedi in real life. Congratulations, Aiden- The Force will be with YOU… Always!!! Your fan, mh.”

What do you think? Did the kid make the right choice by sticking to the Jedi Code?
