Úrsula Corberó cast as The Baroness in G.I. Joe spin-off Snake Eyes

The G.I. Joe spin-off Snake Eyes has added a new member to its cast. According to TheWrap, Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist) will play the Cobra assassin The Baroness in the film. It chronicles the origins of the titular ninja and how he came to be part of the G.I. Joe team.

Corberó will star alongside Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) as Snake Eyes, Andrew Koji (Warrior) as Storm Shadow and Iko Uwais (The Raid) as Hard Master.

Snake Eyes will follow the origins of the character as he attempts to join the Arashikage Clan, a group of highly skilled covert ninjas and assassins that have operated for centuries. Golding’s Snake Eyes is trained by Hard Master and vows to avenge his death after Tommy, Hard Master’s nephew, is blamed for his murder and becomes Storm Shadow, another operative for Cobra.

The Baroness appeared in the first live-action G.I. Joe film played by Sienna Miller, where she was not only a Cobra assassin but the brainwashed sister of Cobra Commander and ex-girlfriend to Duke.

Snake Eyes is being directed by Robert Schwentke (R.I.P.D.) from a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos (Beauty and the Beast) and is set for release on October 16th 2020.
