Tom Felton believes Harry Potter will be rebooted eventually, hopes to play Lucius Malfoy

November 20, 2019 by Liam Waddington

The Wizarding World is continuing to expand with the original eight Harry Potter franchise, divisive Fantastic Beasts series, and the stage play of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. However, Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton believes that while a reboot won’t happen in the near future, it is inevitable in the next 20 years.

“I don’t think Jo [Rowling] would want her films, her books rather and her films, to be remade anytime soon, but I’m sure in 20 years when they’ve got 4D, scratch-and-sniff cinemas, or whatever, then they’ll want to do it all over again,” Felton told The Daily Mail.

Felton continued to say that if a reboot would occur in the future, he hopes he will be old enough to play Lucius Malfoy, the father to his original character, who was portrayed by Jason Isaacs in the films.

‘My hope is that when they do it I’ll be old enough to play Lucius! Give it another 15 years and I’ll come back and play Lucius. I would do it in a heartbeat.’

Do you think Harry Potter will be rebooted? Would you like to see Tom Felton take on the role of Lucius Malfoy if a reboot does occur? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @flickeringmyth…
