As the coronavirus continues to spread around the world, Diamond Comic Distributors has announced today that it has postponed this year’s Free Comic Book Day, which was originally set for May 2nd, and is now looking to take place later in the summer.
“The severity and timing of the impact of the COVID-19 virus can’t be predicted with any certainty, but the safety of our retailer partners and comic book fans is too important to risk,” said Diamond Founder and CEO, Steve Geppi. “As always, we appreciate your enthusiasm for and support of the comic industry’s best event and look forward to celebrating with you later in the Summer.”
Free Comic Book Day 2020 will feature 47 comic books including superheroes, sci-fi, action-adventure, slice-of-life, manga, and more, all of which will be available absolutely free of charge at participating local comic book shops around the world.
