Dr. Seuss’ Oh, The Places You’ll Go! animated movie in the works from Jon M. Chu and J.J. Abrams

November 17, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Dr. Seuss’ final book Oh, The Places You’ll Go! is set for an animated feature adaptation, with Crazy Rich Asians and In the Heights director Jon M. Chu signing on to bring the 1990 book to life for Warner Animation Group and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions.

The film will mark the animated debut for both Chu and Bad Robot and is described as “a globetrotting animated musical following a young adventurer as they journey through the joys and heartaches, and the peaks and valleys, of life.”

Oh, The Places You’ll Go! joins a growing slate of Dr. Seuss projects from Warner Animation Group and Dr. Seuss Enterprises, which will begin in 2024 with the release of The Cat in the Hat and an original story entitled Thing One and Thing Two. It will be some time before we see it however, as it isn’t slated for release until 2027.
