Cobra Kai showrunners promise more seasons of the Netflix series

March 22, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Cobra Kai went from over-looked YouTube series to a cult-like hit on Netflix. With the fourth season currently streaming, fans are already curious about the next season of the series, and they aren’t the only ones preparing for more Cobra Kai, as the creators and producers are already gearing up for more of the nostalgic sequel show.

During the PGA Awards, co-creator Hayden Schlossberg confirmed to Deadline that they have plans for the upcoming season, and maybe even more after that.

“We have an end in mind. How many seasons it takes to get there, we don’t know,” says Schlossberg. “We’re enjoying making it so much. If it gets tiring to us, we’ll stop before that; we have a few more seasons already planned out.”

In regards to the next season, producer Josh Heald noted that we would see significant repercussions from the events of Season 4: “The bad guys won in Season 4, so there’s going to be some hell to pay, whether there’s more hellfire or retribution. There’s lot of people punching each other, kicking other, but the story is going to go in a new way that no one can possibly predict.”

COBRA KAI takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). Season 4 finds the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang dojos joining forces to take down Cobra Kai at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament… and whoever loses must hang up their gi.

As Samantha and Miguel try to maintain the dojo alliance and Robby goes all in at Cobra Kai, the fate of the Valley has never been more precarious. What tricks does Kreese have up his sleeve? Can Daniel and Johnny bury their decades-long hatchet to defeat Kreese? Or will Cobra Kai become the face of karate in the valley?

Cobra Kai season 4 features a cast that includes Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso), William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence), Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), Gianni Decenzo (Demetri), Vanessa Rubio (Carmen), Peyton List (Tory), Martin Kove (John Kreese), Dallas Dupree Young (Kenny), Oona O’Brien (Devon), Griffin Santopietro (Anthony), and Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver).
