WandaVision writer Bobak Esfarjani joins FX’s Alien prequel series

April 26, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Alien heading to the small screen has delighted long-time fans. The excitement hit a new level when Legion creator Noah Hawley was announced as the head of the new Alien prequel, alongside Ridley Scott returning as executive producer.

The Wrap reports that a new writer has now joined the series, a writer with some notable sci-fi credits to his name. Bobak Esfarjani will pen the script for the Alien prequel series on FX, where he will also serve as supervising producer. Esfarjani will also write and produce the upcoming sci-fi series Kindred on FX as part of this deal.

FX’s Kate Lambert expressed her excitement about this in a statement: “Bobak has greatly contributed to FX’s upcoming Kindred and Alien, and now, under this agreement, he will be able to apply his considerable talents to other FX series while developing original content that draws on his vision as a writer and creator.”

“I’m thrilled to expand my relationship with the amazing team at FX,” said Esfarjani. “They consistently produce the highest level of quality material, and I can’t wait for what’s next.”

Along with his Writers Guild Association Award-nominated work on WandaVision, Bobak Esfarjani wrote on Archive 81 for Netflix and the fan-favorite Manifest on NBC. He’s also attached to an unnamed feature film project with It filmmakers Andy and Barbara Muschietti.
