Amazon’s Fallout series adds Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones & Aaron Moten

June 29, 2022 by Liam Waddington

Amazon Prime’s upcoming TV series adaptation of the long-running video game franchise Fallout has added Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Aaron Moten to its cast as series regulars.

Per Variety, the newly announced trio will be starring alongside previously announced cast members Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins. As with previous casting announcements for the project, exact details on who each actor will be playing are currently being kept under wraps.

MacLachlan is perhaps best known for his work with director David Lynch on projects including Twin Peaks, Dune, and Blue Velvet. Mendes-Jones has a recurring role in the second season of Amazon’s The Wheel of Time and will next be seen in the Netflix feature Havoc alongside Tom Hardy, Forest Whitaker and Timothy Olyphant. While Moten most recently appeared in the feature Father Stu alongside Mark Wahlberg and will next feature in the Apple film Emancipation with Will Smith.

Originally launching in 1997, Fallout is a post-apocalyptic RPG game taking place a couple of centuries after a catastrophic nuclear war left Earth a barren Wasteland, with the remnants of mankind living in huge underground fallout shelters known as Vaults.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner will serve as executive producers and co-showrunners on Fallout. Westworld duo Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will also executive produce with Athena Wickham via their Kilter Films banner, with Nolan directing the first episode of the series. Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman of Bethesda Softworks will also serve as executive producers. Amazon Studios and Kilter Films are set to produce in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.
